Can the slave pull cord connector on an EPC be programmed to place a unique call type?
8/2012: This connector cannot be programmed to place a call type that differs from the pull cord, as the slave/remote connector is physically 'connected' to the pull cord "button". This remote connector cannot be programmed to place a unique call type regardless of device firmware or programming software versions. Typical requests for this feature are connecting another EPC or slave device (or other remote input, such as a door monitoring contact) to the master EPC, but having it place a unique call type to differentiate the calling device.
An NV-EPC/RMT device CAN BE USED to connect to a remote input with a unique call type. The EPC/RMT has a different physical connection for the remote input (dry contact closure, etc), specifically 2 wires soldered to the membrane header pins (# 1 and 3). This will allow a contact closure to be connected to the EPC/RMT, and with ISG Firmware v1.10 (minimum) and the current version of NV-Config, the input can be programmed with a unique call type (Device Button # 2).
